IT is most unfortunate that lawyers are gunning for Pervez Musharraf and no suo motu action is being taken by the judges. I am a die-hard anti-Musharraf person, but cannot change the fact that he was the president and the army chief and deserves to be dealt with dignity.
It is time that all segments, especially the lawyers, show some maturity and refrain from activism him.
Musharraf did what he thought was right but now he is being tried in a court of law. Now why is he being harassed and humiliated?
We must accord him due respect as he is not a convict yet but an accused only.
Of all the people it is the lawyers who are creating all this fuss against him.
Do they not believe in courts? If I were the chief justice of Pakistan, I would have pardoned him for all the sins against judiciary as there is no way that judiciary is in a position to do justice.

How did President George Bush of U.S. get treated for sacking Attorney Generals, or muddling with the Supreme Court appointment to ensure a conservative replacement. You will get very different answers if you were to ask republicans and democrats. Several of of his actions have been arguably labelled as "unconstitutional". Learn to respect YOUR presidents.

"Tarbeyyat" - who is responsible for that not just for kids but for for adults as well. Our adults need it more than our children. How sad. There is a reason why in Pakistani curriculum, our current history is not taught at any level. WE have destroyed the chance of writing a great history of Pakistan over the last 25 years.

any one who thinks musharraf deserves this treatment ony need to spend some time and look at financial and non financial results of where pakistan was and where it is now...
we keep talking abot educational level but even educated people are behaving in a brainless manner...the treatment against musharraf is nothing more than revenge....so read up facts on him and what he did before commenting and making baseless coments.

I'm not blindly supporting him. I've lived in khi and trust me only during musharraf era, we saw some peace and development plus job growth. If musharraf gets punished, nawaz, zardari and the great bhai (you know who)should get the same treatment

Being an Army Chief does not mean that the culprit should be given a special protocol. He is still enjoying "route" and VVIP protocol which is not fair.

Unfortunately, Musharraf offended two people in his life time who are in power at this moment. He had foolishly sown some very bad seeds in his past. I also hope that powerful people (now) would also avoid sowing bad seeds. History does repeat itself, sometimes more than once!

You reap what you sow. Musharraf played some very ugly politics to continue to hold to power; no one questioned the dignity of the offices then. He is getting the same treatment which he gave to his opponents. Probably, worse is yet to come for him - and he fully deserves it.

This is trying time for Pakistan. Lack of education and political understanding has time and again put thugs into office by democratic process. The good leaders who have been clean, honest and dedicated to the cause of Pakistan have to suffer. This will change only with the increase in literacy and developing a solid national agenda. God knows how long it would take. Another 5 years to count.

Nothing will happen to Musharraf, he is an ex- army chief. Why did Nawaz Sharif 'forgive' his enemies? Musharraf would never have come back if his safety wasn't guaranteed, he cannot be punished by any civilian government or court in Pakistan.

Talking about dignity, Qadeer Khan also deserved to be dealt with dignity. And Qadeer Khan didn't remove the duly appointed Chief of Army Staff and the elected government. Perhaps the General's conviction (and pardon) is a necessary sacrifice to show Pakistan is maturing. A sacrifice he asked of others during his tenure.

I think the decision and treatment against Musharraf is biased by the judiciary, its not just me but all the foreign affairs circles globally have this opinion. If the justice cannot be impartial then it does not exist.
Disqualifying Musharraf but allowing Nawaz, Lagharis, Sherpao, Kaira etc and above all keeping zardari as Mr President shows how interested the lawyers and judiciary are in having a rule of law.
Our nation needs to be rational.

this should be end know... the biased attitude which the lawyers and judiciary is showing toward musharraf... may be he had committed some mistakes, but he has done lots of good things also...! more importantly, people had welcomed him, when he overthrown Nawaz sharif govt. in 1999.
